About us
Fourth & Gill Neighborhood Center is a small business in Knoxville, TN. We are collaborative, inclusive, supportive and our goal is to offer programs, events, and gatherings for residents of the Fourth & Gill Neighborhood and the wider community that nurture individuals and build community.

Responsibilities—Event Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for all renters (upstairs and downstairs), including being physically present to give tours and provide access to building as needed
- Be an expert on Neighborhood Center Space Use policy
- Coordinate schedule for all groups/programs taking place at the center, with goal of keeping the right balance of event types and maximizing income from paid events (with guidance from Program and Activities Sub-Committee)
- Manage marketing efforts and develop relationships with relevant community partners
- Recruit usage for downstairs space, including ensuring up-to-date listings on appropriate websites (Arts Council, the Knot, etc.), and identify additional resources for listing the space for rental
- Coordinate rental application process: ensure all groups/events using the neighborhood center have appropriate paperwork on file and necessary insurance
Responsibilities—Communication
- Release weekly schedule of upcoming events through channels approved by communication plan (this could be social media, listserv, Friends of the Neighborhood Center email list, etc.)
- Field inquiries about Neighborhood Center usage and answer any questions
Responsibilities—Administration
- Prepare monthly report
- Notify Building and Grounds Sub-Committee of any necessary repairs in the building in a timely manner
- Handle cash/checks brought into the Neighborhood Center as a results of event fees if needed
- Update website and public calendar
- Keep Neighborhood Center Leadership Committee informed of any critical needs for resources, repairs, or key decisions to be made that impact the Center
- Assist with fundraising efforts
Qualifications
- 1-5 years experience managing events
- Program Management and fundraising experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing multiple social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, other)
- Willing to work some night/weekend hours
- Experience with Grant Writing/Stewardship a plus
